In Which there are Gold Stars and Punny Jokes

What’s with all the Gold stars mentioned in these conversations? Keep reading, you’ll find out.

If you’ve read my blog for a while, you understand that I expect a lot from online conversations with strangers. I rarely continue them unless they are engaging; however, I do try to give people something to start with.

This is my current profile.
What do you think? Would you send me a message?

My self-summary

If I had to choose one candy bar to describe my personality, it would be a snickers bar–half sweet and half nuts.

I have a ridiculously punny sense of humor, and I love cheesy jokes almost as much as I love coffee and long conversations with friends.
(What’s the difference between a cactus, a puppy, and glue?)

I am one of the most stunningly average people you are likely to ever meet. But finding magic in ordinary moments is one of my specialties, and I believe that the best experiences in life are the shared ones.

My faith is an essential part of my life, so if you consider yourself non-religious or anti-religious, I’m probably not the girl for you. (But if you’re a good conversationalist, message me anyway. Let’s meet for coffee and have a fun philosophical discussion. ^_^)

What I’m doing with my life

I’ve recently taken great strides in my personal development and can now proudly say that I kill my own spiders. (As long as they remain smaller than my hand. Anything larger, and I will be more likely to cower in fear than ruthlessly destroy.)

In addition to plotting world domination, dabbling in community theatre, and doing crazy things like spontaneous Lindy Hop lessons, I am a full-time network marketing team builder. I’m a former English teacher, but don’t worry– I won’t correct your grammar, I’ll just silently judge any messages that use “u” instead of “you.” ^_-

I’m really good at

Writing, singing like a Disney princess, being corny, drinking coffee, spending quality time with people I care about

I’m really NOT good at sports.
Though I don’t necessarily dislike sports, at any game, I’m typically cheering vague cheers like, “yay, sporting! Do the thing! Get the points!” (You get the idea)

The first things people usually notice about me

My eyes, my smile, and my unintentionally pretentious vocabulary

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I love to read. Terry Pratchett, Billy Collins, Shakespeare, Mark Twain, Jodi Piccoult, and Lemony Snickett are some of my favorite names in literature.

Movies: Princess Bride, V for Vendetta, Muppet Treasure Island, the Bourne movies

Shows: The Walking Dead, Firefly, Pinky and the Brain, Lost, Pushing Daisies, Sherlock

Food: Sushi, dark Chocolate, cheesecake, anything adventurous

The six things I could never do without

God

Coffee

My family

Gratitude

Words of encouragement

Compassion

(Please note: The placement of coffee above family is intentional. I love people MORE than coffee… just generally not BEFORE. )

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The meaning of life

The definition of words

Symbolism and Irony

Conspiracy Theories

Plotting to take over the world

On a typical Friday night I am

still me ^_^

on every day of the week, I am myself, which means there is no predictable pattern for what my Friday night might entail.

Maybe it will include you?

You should message me if

*You want to share an adventure.

*You are ok with people occasionally breaking into song (in public)

*You can write whole words

*You would like to collaborate on my Guide for Being an Evil Overlord

*You know the difference between to/too/two and your/you’re

*You’ve learned something in the past week that you’d love to share with someone else

*You know a cheesy joke that would make me laugh

*You agree that socks and sandals should be worn separately

*You don’t keep up with the Kardashians

*You understand that I am not ignoring you just because it may take a while to respond. (Between my job and spontaneous road trips to where my wifi won’t connect, I may just be busy ^_-)

Congratulations! You made it to the end of my profile, proving that you consider personality at least as significant as a pretty picture. You deserve a gold star! Send me a message if you’d like to claim it ^_^

  1. Friendly blog lurker... Blurker?

I tried posting this comment already. I’m not sure if it’s just being moderated or if the comment didn’t go through. If it did, and if it’s just waiting in your queue, then please disregard this one. 🙂

If I were still single, were on that particular site, and came across your profile, yes. Based on what I’ve read, I believe I’d send you a message. ‘Twould be a fool who wouldn’t.

I enjoy your blog, C—–. Keep it up! 🙂

    1. Hello, T, — My that’a a lot of if’s ^_^

Thanks for your continued reading in spite of my inconsistency.

Yes, I have moved to a policy of comment moderation. Every once in a while a disgruntled person finds my blog and leaves colorful comments, so I screen for language (and spam) prior to allowing comments to appear.
